Computer Applications Semester Project: Power of PAWsitive Thinking

As part of a Bioengineering class, Computer Applications in Bioengineering, my lab group was tasked with completing a semester project utilizing Labview software and Arduino hardware. We decided to create a game that can be used as part of a rehabilitation program for stroke and/or concussion patients. The game integrates motor and memory skills by asking the user to follow light/sound commands and decide whether to press buttons or keys. They also have to decide which finger to use for each task and will ultimately replicate button-pressing patterns from memory.

My specific contributions included:

  • Involvement in all code created

  • Design of User Interface

  • Hardware build

  • Testing iterations of the game on friends and family (COVID-19 safe)

  • Writing paper, developing presentation, and filming videos of the game in use
